Interestingly enough, I painted the Immaculate Heart of Mary on her day of the Liturgical calendar. I painted it using traditional colors representing her. I made a conscious decision to portray her as a young, middle eastern Jewish woman. The painting has a sweetness, a vulnerability… that instills trust, confidence and security.
