In this image, you see the wounds that Padre Pio shared with Christ. Despite those wounds, his face is not sad but peaceful and radiating joy. He holds a white flower to represent an offering of purity and stands in the midst of the garden of gethsemane where Christ suffered, a symbol of all he accepted for love of Christ. In this he is guiding us to a deeper intimacy with our Lord.
