Sacred Art LIVE! Houston Artist 2025
Clorinda Bell was born in Cusco, Peru in 1973 as the middle child of a large family. Her father and grandfather were both artists based in the historical style of the School of Cusco that dates back to the 1500s when European monks used art to minister to the natives of Peru.
Even as a young child she enjoyed visiting the local churches and seeing the historical paintings that decorated the walls of the churches and visually told the stories of the Bible.
Her father began teaching her to paint at the age of 11 when she snuck into his studio while he was gone and did a painting showing her natural talent. After seeing her potential, he taught her until his untimely death 2 years later. She continued learning and practicing her art as she finished school and graduated college earning her Bachelor’s degree in Literature.
She met her husband when he walked into her shop in Cusco as a tourist in 2004. Over time and through many emails they learned each others languages and eventually got married in 2006. She moved to Knoxville, Tennessee and became a proud, naturalized citizen in 2014 where she currently happily resides.
She has been interviewed on EWTN’s “Nuestra Fe in Vivo” by Mr. Pepe Alonso and has several commissioned paintings in various parishes in the Southeast as well as a painting in the Dominican House of Studies Catholic Institution in Washington D.C. She has been featured as an exhibiting artist in the Peruvian Embassy in Washington D.C. as well. She has had several features in the East Tennessee Catholic magazine and newspaper.
Clorinda’s inspiration comes from the greatest source of all…the Holy Spirit. She feels that God gave her this talent to reach out and inspire faith in others. It is her particular type of ministry. While she is strong in her Catholic faith and the style of painting is Catholic, one does not need to be Catholic to appreciate the talent and patience necessary to produce such beautiful works of art.
Clorinda’s goal is to provide both a superior quality artwork and a tremendous value for her customers. She is passionate about exceeding expectations. All of her work is high quality oil on canvas with her trademarked signature of BClory.
