Alicia Lloyd is an accomplished artist in addition to being a devoted wife and mother of three children.
Alicia is originally from Spain where she trained as a lawyer studying at the CEU University in Madrid, including one year of exchange at Columbia University and a Master’s in International Business and Trade Law from Fordham University. She also spent some months in Paris where she enjoyed the beautiful art at the Louvre, visited many galleries and spent time in the south of France which influenced her love for painting the sea.
Alicia has always been a passionate artist. She began her formal artistic training at the Art Students League in New York City. Alicia continued her art studies in London at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and at Central Saint Martins, then in Aberdeen Scotland at the Gray’s School of Art. She returned to New York and took classes with the renowned artist, Sharon Sprung, at the National Academy of Fine Arts, with a particular focus on portraiture. Alicia then moved to Houston and took classes at the Glassell School of Art.
Alicia has held exhibitions in New York and London and her work is now in private collections in London, Madrid, New York, Barcelona, Tenerife, Mexico City and Houston. Much of Alicia’s artistic work has been dedicated to commissions of individual and family portraits with a focus on children. She also enjoys painting animals, sea and landscapes and creating sculptures.
Alicia is inspired by the pursuit of beauty and balance and faith. She admires the work of Sorolla, Velazquez, Murillo, Goya, Ferrer, Dalmau and Sargent among others.
Alicia resides in Houston and is a parishioner at St Michael the Archangel parish.
